ABOUT NAVEERA

As a penultimate-year student from the Business School and Faculty of Law, Naveera is WiB’s 2026 President.

What she loves most about WiB is honestly everything — from the values the society stands for, to the supportive and driven community that has been built, and the incredible opportunities created for students. She is especially proud of the energy, inclusiveness and strong commitment to empowering women that define WiB. Stepping into her role as President, she is most excited to bring a sense of contemporariness and creativity to the society. She wants WiB to continue evolving with the needs and interests of its community, ensuring it feels fresh, relevant and forward-thinking, while remaining true to the values that make it so meaningful.

Her short-term career goals include securing an internship or clerkship at a leading company or firm, where she can apply what she has learned and gain practical experience. Looking further ahead, she anticipates her career to sit at the intersection of corporate finance and legal advisory, where she can effectively integrate both disciplines. Ultimately, her career aspirations are still evolving, but they centre on finding work that is both challenging and meaningful, with room to grow. For now, her goal is to gain as much exposure as possible.

She is deeply inspired by Shemara Wikramanayake, whose leadership in a traditionally male-dominated industry represents a powerful example of reshaping expectations and challenging barriers — the kind of female empowerment that WiB strives to cultivate.

Favourite WiB memory:

A favourite WiB memory would have to be skipping around the Botanic Gardens to market our merch; I think we made a few people laugh! Another favourite memory would be interviewing Dr Amanda White on WiB Talks – which was really us yapping for 2 hours!

Book, Podcast or Show recommendation:

The Diary Of A CEO, Working Hard with Grace Beverley, Aware & Aggravated and special shoutout to WiB Talks! I'm a podcast girly if you cannot tell...
