ABOUT LEILA

Leila is WiB’s 2026 Vice-President!

What she loves most about WiB is the ability to make individuals feel special and like they truly belong. Creating a safe and supportive community is not easy, which is why she feels so blessed and privileged to be part of WiB for another year. Through her role, she hopes to reach beyond the society and touch the lives of those who are not as fortunate or are disadvantaged. Stepping into her role as Vice President, she is also excited to put everything she has learned through her HR studies into practice, helping to create a flourishing and supportive environment for the WiB team.

Her career aspiration is to become the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of a not-for-profit organisation. Most importantly, she aspires to work in a role that allows her to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

She is most inspired by Jacinda Ardern, who proved that women can lead with strength, empathy and remarkable influence. Despite being doubted simply for being a woman, Jacinda became one of the youngest and most impactful female leaders in the world. She used her platform to champion gender equality, representation and inclusive leadership, inspiring millions of women and young people. What Leila admires most is how Jacinda normalised authenticity in leadership, showing emotion, acknowledging uncertainty and redefining what professionalism can look like for women in high-pressure roles. Through her composure, humility and compassion, Jacinda demonstrates that true leadership comes not from authority alone, but from the courage to lead with heart.

Favourite WiB memory:

My favourite WiB memory is all going on a late night maccas run after an event and all sitting enjoying a meal together.
