About the Event
Would you like to gain knowledgeable insight from an experienced panel over breakfast? Would you like the opportunity to meet students from diverse backgrounds? And would you like to help us celebrate International Women’s Day in a COVID safe environment?
To experience this for yourself, make sure to not miss out on our International Women’s Day Breakfast! Capital W (UNSW), Network of Women (USYD), Women in Business (UTS) and Women Entering Business (MQU) are delighted to invite you to our annual breakfast celebrations for 2021. We hope to bring you the opportunity to find all the answers to your burning questions and help you build lasting connections with a range of industry professionals and students.
The event will feature a panel session where our esteemed guests will share their insights into workplace advocacy and the gender challenges present today. This will be followed by a Q&A session and a virtual networking session with our sponsors and many corporate representatives, over a delicious breakfast and light refreshments.
The event will have an in-person and online presence, and students will be given the choice between attending virtually at no cost or in person at a ticketed expense. However, students who choose to attend online will not have access to the networking portion of the event or breakfast, and will only be able to live stream the panel discussion.
Highlighted by the structural and systemic gender disparity present today, gender inequality continues to be a vital barrier to the realisation of rights and opportunities for women. Statistically, women spend twice as much time on unpaid work than men and on average, retire with approximately half the level of retirement savings of men (Equality Rights Alliance, 2020).
As the next generation of professionals, each of us have our own role to play in minimising the experiences that marginalised women face. From contributing to society with our unique values and ideas, contributing to the global movement of Choose to Challenge and adding our diverse perspectives in advocating for equal opportunity, these movements are all significant drivers of social transformation.
We are delighted to invite you to join us in unity for a breakfast event in celebration of International Women’s Day, this is an amazing opportunity and is NOT to be missed! ALL students of ALL genders are welcomed to register through the link below.
