Angela Dong

Marketing Director

Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op)

Angela has been a part of WiB for two years, joining the society as a first-year student and is now entering her second year as the society's new Marketing Director. Angela has always had a passion for gender equality as well as fostering confidence and self-worth in women in her personal life. Beginning as a WiB Marketing subcommittee member, Angela loved the insight to how a popular university society internally operates and how to market promotional material effectively and exposure to so many new people. Angela made many new connections and friends through membership, encouraging her to return the following year as an executive role.

Through this role, Angela aims to bring a new marketing strategy to WiB in 2022. This includes more interpersonal and interactive marketing which will be more relatable to members and potential members of WiB. She hopes to utilise her creativity to design appealing graphics which effectively showcase the future events and sponsor opportunities that are the core of WiB.

Beyond WiB, Angela loves to spend time with her friends swimming and sun-baking in the Northern Beaches and exploring- whether that is in Melbourne on the odd weekend or overseas with family. Running and gyming is in her regular routine and is always on the lookout for a scenic hike or bushwalk. Angela maths tutors throughout the week and dedicates her Friday nights to debating coaching for a group of lively junior school girls at her old school, Roseville College.

Her Career:

Angela is currently undertaking a Co-operative degree which gives her exposure to two six-month internships. At the end of 2021 she finished her first internship at the Big Four Accounting Firm Ernst and Young, where she worked in the Audit team for Health Life Government and Consumer Products customer sectors. She was then offered a casual employment contract that extended to February 2022. Angela’s goal over the next few years is to receive her Chartered Accountant qualification and work in corporate, stimulating her learning of finance and accounting to eventually lead and foster her own team of strong women.
